Description
๐ถ About SonoSuite
SonoSuite is a global team of 70+ people working where music meets technology. We are here to strengthen the independent music industry by giving businesses the tools they need to navigate change, stay in control, and grow with confidence. Our B2B SaaS platform supports companies, like boutique labels and DIY collectives, in managing catalog distribution and royalty reporting with ease and precision.
We are based in Barcelona and work in a hybrid setup, with team members collaborating from different parts of the world.
๐ฏ Why we are hiring
As we grow, we are looking for people who are ready to take ownership, build smart solutions, and collaborate across teams. Your ideas and work will help shape how independent music businesses run their operations and how we evolve as a company.
๐ What youโll do
As our first dedicated Product Owner, you will play a key role in bridging the product vision -defined by our Product Managers- with flawless execution by the development team. Your mission will be to keep sprints running smoothly, control scope creep, and ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality features that bring real value to our global users (independent labels and distributors). You will report directly to the Head of Product.
Your main focus will be managing the daily execution and maximizing the value of the product delivered by the Product Development Team.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Agile Execution & Sprint Management
- Own the Backlog: Become the ultimate owner of the Product Backlog, ensuring items are clearly defined, properly prioritized, and estimated in collaboration with the Team Leads.
- Sprint Accountability: Lead all Agile/Scrum rituals (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Retrospective) to ensure the Development Team stays focused and Sprints are completed on time and within the agreed scope.
- Scope Definition & Clarity: Translate high-level requirements and user stories from the Product Managers (PMs) and UX/Design into concrete, actionable tasks for the engineering team.
- Acceptance: Define and communicate clear Acceptance Criteria for all user stories and formally accept or reject the output of the development Sprints.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Negotiation
- PM Alignment: Work closely with Product Managers to understand the long-term vision and market needs, ensuring the priorities in the backlog reflect the strategic roadmap.
- Negotiation & Flexibility: Negotiate with PMs, TLs, and stakeholders when scope adjustments, delays, or technical dependencies arise, maintaining focus on achieving business outcomes.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with other teams (Support, Customer Success, Data, etc.) who requested features to manage expectations and ensure the delivered functionality meets their needs.
Product & User Focus
- Customer Value: Continuously maintain a strong understanding of user needs and client requirements to ensure that the development team does not lose focus on the ultimate business and user value.
- Data & Analysis: Use analytical skills to measure sprint outcomes and contribute to data-driven decision-making in the execution process.
- Agile Champion: Work hand-in-hand with the Head of Product to formalize and solidify our Agile/Scrum framework across the Product Development Team.
- Tooling: Manage and maintain product artifacts and documentation using tools like Jira, Miro, and Confluence.
Minimum requirements
๐ What weโre looking for
We are looking for an organized, detailed and resilient individual who thrives in a flexible and fast-paced environment. You must be comfortable taking full ownership of the delivery process.
Youโll be a great fit if you have:
- Proven Experience: 3+ years of experience in a dedicated Product Owner, Project Manager, or similar Agile execution role
- Agile Expertise: Deep knowledge of Scrum and Agile methodologies
- Organizational Master: Highly organized, methodical, and structured, with a proven ability to manage complex backlogs without becoming chaotic
- Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional communication skills with a history of successful negotiation and managing expectations across technical and business stakeholders (PMs and Team Leads).
- Analytical Aptitude: Capacity to understand customer and user needs and translate them into clear, actionable requirements while maintaining focus on results.
- Tool Proficiency: Experience working with essential PO tools (e.g., Jira, Miro, Confluence).
- Adaptability & Ownership: Comfort negotiating changes in a flexible environment, autonomy to "run with it", and a willingness to learn and embrace failure as part of the process.
